Singapore, 8 February 2026 — Maybank Singapore has launched the Singapore leg of Maybank Group’s Regional Ramadhan Relief Programme 2026, providing support to 2,500 beneficiaries from lower-income families and seniors ahead of the holy month of Ramadhan.

Introduced in 2013, the Regional Ramadhan Relief Programme is a long-running Maybank Group initiative aimed at supporting communities across the region during Ramadhan by providing access to essential food supplies. In Singapore, beneficiaries were identified through 12 Malay-Muslim Organisations, with food packages distributed at various locations across the island.

The 2026 programme is delivered in partnership with the 12 Malay-Muslim Organisations and Grab. Jamiyah Singapore and Muhammadiyah supported the initiative by making their premises available for rations packing, while PERTAPIS and Wisma Geylang Serai served as distribution centres. The shared approach allowed participating organisations to pool resources and coordinate logistics to ensure timely assistance to beneficiaries.

The event was graced by Acting Minister-in-Charge of Muslim Affairs and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs, Associate Professor Faishal Ibrahim, as Guest of Honour.

Speaking at the event, Mr Alvin Lee, Country CEO and CEO of Maybank Singapore, said the programme reflects Maybank Group’s continued commitment to supporting communities through partnerships with social organisations and volunteers, particularly during significant occasions such as Ramadhan.

Mr Shaharin Nordin, President of PERTAPIS, said the expanded collaboration among Malay-Muslim Organisations this year enabled the initiative to reach more households across Singapore, while strengthening coordination and shared responsibility among participating organisations.

Mr Alejandro Osorio, Managing Director of Grab Singapore, said Grab was pleased to support the programme, with more than 150 Grab driver-partners contributing to the delivery of pre-Ramadhan hampers to over 900 households.

The Singapore event brought together community leaders from the participating Malay-Muslim Organisations, volunteers from Maybank Singapore, Grab and partner organisations, as well as beneficiaries from lower-income families and seniors. In total, more than 700 volunteers supported the initiative.

The Regional Ramadhan Relief Programme forms part of Maybank Group’s broader efforts to support vulnerable communities across the region through partnerships with social organisations and coordinated regional initiatives.
