JAKARTA, INDONESIA – 6 March 2026 – VinFast has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with six electric scooter dealers in Indonesia as part of its strategy to expand its distribution network ahead of the planned launch of its electric scooters in the country in the second quarter of 2026.

The agreements were signed with PT. IB Motor, PT. Sentrik, PT. Axara Marani, PT. Sukses Sejati Indonesia, PT. Tangguh Inti Motor, and PT. Kiki Motor Persada, which will support the distribution of VinFast electric scooters across key markets in Indonesia.

Under the MOUs, VinFast and its dealer partners will collaborate to open showrooms in strategic locations including Jabodetabek, West Java, East Java, and Bali. These regions have been identified as priority markets due to their high population density, rapid urbanisation, and strong demand for mobility.

The showrooms will operate in line with VinFast’s global standards and will initially distribute battery-swap compatible models such as the VinFast Flazz, VinFast Evo, VinFast Feliz II, and VinFast Viper. Additional models designed to suit local infrastructure and consumer needs are expected to be introduced gradually.

Indonesia remains one of the world’s largest scooter markets, with annual sales reaching millions of units. With growing government support for the transition to cleaner energy and electric mobility, the country’s electric scooter segment is expected to experience accelerated growth.

To support market development, VinFast is also working with infrastructure partners including V-Green to deploy battery swapping stations. These stations are currently being piloted in the Jabodetabek area and will allow customers to conveniently swap batteries instead of waiting for charging.

According to Vo Thi Cam Tu, Managing Director of VinFast E-Scooters Overseas Market, expanding partnerships with Indonesian dealers is a key step in establishing a strong distribution and service network in the country.

VinFast has been expanding its presence in Indonesia over the past two years, introducing a range of electric vehicles and commencing operations at its manufacturing facility in Subang. The company has also been developing its ecosystem through dealership expansion, charging infrastructure partnerships, and collaborations with financial institutions.

In 2026, VinFast plans to accelerate the international expansion of its electric scooters across key markets including the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia as part of its broader strategy to support the transition to green transportation.
