QBE Strengthens Asia Expansion with Appointment of Transactional Liability Lead

QBE Insurance Group has announced the appointment of Reuben Lee as Transactional Liability (TLI) Lead for Asia, reinforcing its commitment to expanding its M&A insurance capabilities across the region.
In this newly created role, Lee will be responsible for providing strategic direction for underwriting QBE’s transactional liability portfolio in Asia, with a focus on driving growth while maintaining disciplined risk management. He will be based in Singapore and report to Arati Varma, Head of Financial Lines & Liability for Asia.
Lee brings extensive experience in M&A insurance and advisory. He joins QBE from Willis Towers Watson, where he served as Broking Director, leading M&A risk advisory mandates across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia. Prior to that, he was a Senior Underwriter at Ryan Transactional Risk.

QBE’s transactional liability practice was first launched in London in 2023 and has since expanded across Europe, including Italy, Germany, France, the Nordics, and Spain. The Asia expansion marks a significant step in the company’s global growth strategy, as demand for M&A insurance solutions continues to rise in the region.
