Bolttech Appoints Kohei Watanabe as General Manager, Japan

Appointment strengthens Asia leadership team and underscores strategic focus on Japan market

Global insurtech company Bolttech today announced the appointment of Kohei Watanabe as General Manager, Japan, reinforcing its Asia leadership team and commitment to expanding in the Japanese market.

Based in Tokyo, Watanabe will be responsible for leading Bolttech’s Japan business, including full profit and loss accountability across both domestic and international operations. He will also drive the company’s market strategy and collaborate closely with key strategic partners, including Tokio Marine and Sumitomo Corporation.

Watanabe brings extensive experience spanning insurance, underwriting, and technology. He spent 17 years at Tokio Marine, where he held senior leadership roles in Japan and the United Kingdom, including positions at Tokio Marine Kiln. During his tenure, he also oversaw product planning for corporate underwriting in Tokyo.

He later relocated to Singapore to build Liberty Mutual’s Japanese business across Asia Pacific. Most recently, Watanabe led go-to-market strategy and sales expansion across Asia for ICEYE, a Finland-headquartered space technology company serving the insurance sector.
