United Overseas Bank (UOB) Hong Kong today announced the appointment of Cliff Law as its new Head of Corporate Banking, effective immediately. He succeeds Anthony Tse in the role.
Based in Hong Kong, Law will be responsible for shaping and executing UOB Hong Kong’s corporate banking strategy. His mandate includes expanding the bank’s corporate banking franchise and strengthening support for cross-border business flows between China and ASEAN markets, reflecting the bank’s focus on capturing growing regional trade and investment opportunities.
Law will report jointly to Adaline Zheng, Chief Executive Officer of UOB Hong Kong, and Edmund Leong.
With more than 20 years of experience across Hong Kong and mainland China, Law brings extensive expertise in corporate finance and cross-border transactions. Prior to joining UOB, he served as General Manager of Corporate Banking at a Hong Kong-based lender, where he oversaw client coverage, credit analysis, and customer service for a diverse portfolio including China corporates, financial institutions, and real estate groups.
Earlier in his career, Law held senior leadership roles at a multinational bank, where he specialized in loan syndications and financing solutions. His experience includes structuring and underwriting large-scale China-related deals, as well as managing investor relations and risk oversight.
Commenting on the appointment, Zheng said, “As we deepen our focus on China–ASEAN business opportunities, Cliff’s extensive experience will strengthen our ability to support clients’ cross-border ambitions and connect them to growth opportunities across ASEAN through UOB’s regional network.”
Zheng also expressed appreciation to Tse for his contributions over the past decade, noting his role in strengthening the bank’s corporate banking franchise and advancing its strategic priorities.
Law holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from University of New South Wales and has completed executive programs at Fudan University and the Cisco Fudan Stanford Supply Chain Leadership Institute.
With this leadership transition, UOB Hong Kong aims to further enhance its corporate banking capabilities and accelerate growth across key regional corridors.
