Banma Intelligence, a leading developer of in-vehicle operating systems, today announced a strategic collaboration with Alipay to launch an AI-powered in-car payment solution. The system was introduced at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition 2026 and enables drivers to complete transactions using voice commands.
The new “AI cockpit” integrates Banma’s vehicle intelligence platform with Alipay’s AI Pay technology, allowing users to make hands-free purchases without the need for a smartphone. The solution is designed to streamline digital interactions within vehicles as the automotive industry accelerates toward software-defined mobility.
“In the past two years, smart cockpits have made major strides in understanding user intent,” said Ming Cai, Chief Product Officer at Banma Intelligence. “By adding voice-based payments, we’re eliminating one of the last barriers—drivers can now simply speak to complete a purchase.”
The system supports a range of high-frequency services, including entertainment and travel. Drivers can book movie tickets, reserve hotel accommodations, and order food through simple voice instructions. For example, users can request ticket purchases, after which the system selects showtimes and seating before prompting for voice confirmation to finalize the transaction.
Security features include multi-layered risk controls and real-time fraud detection powered by Alipay, ensuring that all transactions conducted through the system meet industry safety standards.
The companies noted that the AI cockpit has completed integration testing with several major automotive manufacturers. The solution is expected to debut in new vehicle models in the second half of 2026.
The launch underscores a broader shift toward connected, intelligent vehicles, where integrated digital services—including payments—play a critical role in enhancing user experience and differentiating next-generation mobility platforms.
