Indian Social Enterprises Win Global Recognition for Heat-Resilience Innovations
Three startups selected among seven global winners by Expo City Dubai Foundation
Three Indian social enterprises have secured international recognition and funding support for their innovative solutions addressing extreme heat, as part of Expo City Dubai Foundation’s eighth cohort of the Global Innovators Programme.
Selected from over 1,000 applications spanning 84 countries, the Indian ventures—Mercredi Solutions, Fuselage Innovations, and Resilience AI—are among seven global winners tackling climate challenges with scalable, technology-driven approaches. Each winner will receive up to USD 100,000 in funding, alongside technical guidance, visibility, and access to a global innovation network.
Innovations Addressing Heat and Climate Challenges
Mercredi Solutions is transforming agricultural waste into opportunity by converting wheat straw into storable animal feed, supporting year-round livestock nutrition while enhancing farmer income sustainability.
Fuselage Innovations is leveraging drone-based analytics to detect heat stress in crops, enabling farmers to take timely action and optimize resource use, thereby protecting yields in increasingly volatile climates.
Resilience AI is deploying artificial intelligence to generate hyperlocal, real-time heat data, helping communities implement targeted and inclusive cooling interventions, particularly for vulnerable populations.
Leaders Speak on Global Recognition
Jyoti Bramha Chakravarti, Director of Mercredi Solutions, stated that the recognition would help scale efforts to provide affordable and sustainable fodder solutions to small and marginal farmers.
Devan Chandrasekharan, Managing Director of Fuselage Innovations, highlighted the importance of advancing drone-based technologies to mitigate agricultural risks posed by extreme heat.
Samhita R, CEO of Resilience AI, emphasized the need for collective action in building climate resilience, noting that extreme weather preparedness is becoming increasingly critical.
Yousuf Caires, Executive Director of Expo City Dubai Foundation, said the selected cohort reflects the urgency of addressing extreme heat through collaborative innovation, adding that the Foundation remains committed to supporting impactful, scalable solutions worldwide.
Expanding Global Impact
With the addition of the latest cohort, Expo City Dubai Foundation has now supported over 200 entrepreneurs from 97 countries. The initiative continues to foster partnerships and sustainable innovation, with its supported projects collectively impacting more than 6 million people globally.
