Standard Chartered today announced the appointment of Doris Wong as Head of Coverage for Greater China and North Asia (GCNA), effective June 1, 2026.
Based in Hong Kong, Wong will join the bank’s Client Coverage Management Team. She will report to Roberto Hoornweg, CEO, Corporate & Investment Bank, in his capacity as interim Global Head of Client Coverage, and subsequently to Jan Metzger upon his onboarding in July as Global Head of Coverage Banking. Wong will also maintain a dual reporting line to Mary Huen, CEO, Hong Kong and GCNA.
Wong brings extensive experience in corporate and investment banking, along with deep client relationships across the region. She joins Standard Chartered after nearly 18 years at HSBC, where she most recently served as Head of Corporate Coverage, Global Banking, Hong Kong. In that role, she was the senior coverage banker for major Hong Kong-listed companies across sectors including real estate, energy, infrastructure, telecommunications, and consumer.
During her tenure, Wong led a broad range of financing mandates, including capital markets transactions, project financing, structured financing, and syndicated loans. She also previously served as Regional Head of Wholesale Portfolio Management for Asia Pacific, overseeing risk-weighted assets across credit, lending, and trade portfolios.
The appointment underscores Standard Chartered’s continued focus on strengthening its client coverage capabilities and deepening relationships across Greater China and North Asia, a strategically important region for the bank.
