VertiGIS has completed its acquisition of 1Spatial in a deal valued at approximately £87 million, marking a significant expansion of its product portfolio and international presence.

The transaction, first announced in December 2025, was finalized with 1Spatial shareholders receiving 73 pence per share—representing a nearly 57% premium over the company’s closing price prior to the announcement.

The acquisition brings together VertiGIS’ application-focused geospatial solutions with 1Spatial’s advanced data management and automation capabilities. The combined offering is expected to provide customers with an end-to-end geospatial platform, integrating data validation, governance, analytics, and operational workflows.

VertiGIS CEO Andy Berry said the move strengthens the company’s ability to support the growing demand for high-quality data in AI-driven geospatial systems. He emphasized that accurate and reliable data is essential as organizations increasingly adopt technologies such as AI agents and large language models.

1Spatial is known for its automated rules engine and Location Master Data Management (LMDM) platform, which enables large-scale data validation, correction, and synchronization. Its tools are widely used by governments, utilities, telecom providers, and infrastructure organizations.

The deal also expands VertiGIS’ geographic footprint, particularly in the United Kingdom, France, and the Benelux region, while reinforcing its presence in North America and Australia.

Customers of both companies are expected to benefit from a broader suite of solutions, including 1Spatial’s 1Integrate and 1Streetworks products, alongside VertiGIS’ portfolio of industry-specific applications.

The acquisition comes amid rapid growth in the geospatial technology market, which is projected to nearly double in value by 2030. VertiGIS aims to capitalize on this trend through its “VertiGIS Neo” strategy, which focuses on cloud-based, AI-enabled solutions designed to modernize infrastructure and operational workflows.

VertiGIS is backed by Battery Ventures, a global investment firm specializing in technology-driven businesses.

The company stated that 1Spatial customers will continue to receive uninterrupted service while gaining access to VertiGIS’ broader global product ecosystem and support network.
