AllianzGI Appoints Julie Koo as Head of Distribution for Asia Pacific

Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), the asset management arm of Allianz, has appointed Julie Koo as Head of Distribution for Asia Pacific, effective 1 May. She will also join the firm’s executive committee.

Based in Hong Kong, Koo will report directly to Tobias Pross, Chief Executive Officer of AllianzGI. In her new role, she will oversee the firm’s distribution strategy and client engagement across the Asia Pacific region.

Koo brings more than 30 years of experience in institutional and wealth management across Asia, Europe, and North America. She joins AllianzGI from Citigroup, where she served as Head of Partnerships and Relationship Management within the bank’s wealth unit.

Prior to her tenure at Citi, Koo held senior roles at several global financial institutions including UBS, HSBC, and Fidelity International, building extensive experience in distribution, client partnerships, and wealth management.

Headquartered in Munich, Allianz Global Investors manages €591 billion (approximately $686 billion) in assets globally as of the end of 2025, including $134 billion in assets under management across the Asia Pacific region.
