Generali Appoints Sun Lei as Deputy Regional Officer for Asia

Italian insurer Generali has appointed Sun Lei as Deputy Regional Officer, Asia. Based in Hong Kong, he will report to Rob Leonardi, Asia Regional Officer.

In this role, Sun Lei will oversee the strategic and operational activities of Generali’s China-based entities, strengthen governance with joint venture partners and key stakeholders, and lead regional projects across Asia. He will also contribute to advancing the group’s sustainability agenda in alignment with global priorities.

Sun brings over 20 years of leadership experience in insurance, finance, and M&A across Asia and Europe. He joins Generali from Allianz SE, where he held multiple senior positions, including President and CEO of Allianz Korea Life, Deputy General Manager and CFO at Allianz China Insurance Holding, and most recently a senior role in group M&A focusing on Asian markets.
