SLEEK EV, a technology manufacturer focused on electric motorcycles and vehicle electrification, has secured a US$8.5 million first closing of its Series A funding round. The round was led by KYMCO Capital, with participation from January Capital, Krungsri Finnovate, and ORZON Ventures.

The investment supports SLEEK EV’s plans to expand operations across Thailand and strengthen the country’s position as a regional hub for electric motorcycles. Proceeds from the round will be used to scale production capacity at an expanded facility in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), accelerate research and development in software and artificial intelligence, and significantly expand its EV charging and battery-swapping network.

SLEEK EV plans to increase the number of its S-Charge stations by more than seven times, while continuing to work with existing partners including PTT OR, Krungsri Auto, Toyota Tsusho, and Grab. The company is also developing new partnerships with dealers and regulatory bodies to support broader adoption of electric motorcycles and establish standards for charging and battery-swapping infrastructure.

The company’s long-term strategy is to build a full-stack electric motorcycle ecosystem combining vehicle manufacturing, charging infrastructure, and software. As a strategic investor, KYMCO Capital will support SLEEK EV with industry expertise, supply chain optimisation, and regional distribution, drawing on KYMCO’s six decades of experience in the two-wheeler industry.

Kantinan Tunveenukoon (Ben), CEO and Co-founder of SLEEK EV, said the investment validates the company’s technology and growth strategy, adding that SLEEK EV aims to become Thailand’s leading electric motorcycle brand by the end of 2026.

Gary Ting, Managing Partner of KYMCO Capital, said the investment reflects the firm’s commitment to supporting electric mobility ecosystems in Southeast Asia, leveraging experience built in Taiwan and China to support the transition toward electrified urban transport.
